QUICK REGULATION PRACTICES
When emotions feel overwhelming, the goal is not to “think your way out of it.” The goal is to help your body feel safe again. Try one of these practices:
Grounding Practice
Name five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste.
Breathing Reset
Inhale slowly through your nose for four seconds Hold for four seconds
Exhale through your mouth for six seconds
Repeat for several rounds.
Body Awareness Scan
Pause and ask yourself: Where do I feel tension right now? What emotion might be living there? Simply noticing can begin the release.
