Frequently asked questions
- 01Wholistic Alignment is more than a name—it’s a way of healing. It means honoring the whole you—mind, body, and spirit—so you can stop just surviving and start feeling connected, rested, and aligned again. We combine evidence-based therapy with body-based wellness practices like breathwork, yoga, sound healing, and journaling to help you: Regulate and Reset your nervous system Reconnect with your emotions and needs Reclaim your peace, power, and purpose Whether you’re working through trauma, anxiety, burnout, or just feeling off—Wholistic Alignment is about guiding you back to yourself. At your pace. In your way. For real.
- 02A holistic approach means we’re not just focusing on your symptoms—we’re supporting your whole self: mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, occupationally, financially, environmentally, intellectually, and energetically. Instead of taking a typical approach to addressing burnout, anxiety, or emotional pain, we help you understand what’s going on underneath—and guide you to heal from the inside out. Benefits of a holistic approach can include: Feeling more calm, centered, and regulated Better sleep and improved energy Reduced anxiety and stress Feeling emotionally safe in your own body again Stronger boundaries, clarity, and self-trust Deep connection to your intuition and inner peace Tools you can actually use when life feels heavy It’s about alignment, not perfection. Wellness that feels like you, not a basic checklist.

- 05IFS stands for Internal Family Systems, and it’s one of the main ways we help you understand what’s going on beneath the surface. You know how sometimes one part of you wants to rest, but another part feels guilty? Or one part wants to speak up, but another shuts down? IFS helps you get to know those parts, not judge them. We all have different parts that developed to help us survive—like the overthinker, the avoider, the achiever, the inner critic. IFS helps you understand where those parts come from, what they’re protecting, and how to bring more calm, clarity, and compassion into the mix. In session, you’ll learn to: Tune in to your inner world with curiosity Understand emotional triggers instead of being ruled by them Heal the parts of you that are still holding onto old pain Connect with your grounded, wise, most authentic Self It’s not about “fixing” you—it’s about reconnecting with who you’ve always been.
- 06Our Holistic Therapy Intensive is a 90+ minute, multi-hour, or full day session designed to provide holistic healing through a combination of EMDR, yoga, mindfulness, play therapy, and somatic healing. This approach addresses the mind, body, and spirit to help you heal from anxiety, trauma, and/or depression.

- 08Yoga and mindfulness are integrated to help you reconnect with your body and the present moment. Yoga involves gentle movements and poses that release tension and promote relaxation. Mindfulness practices, such as guided meditation, help cultivate awareness and compassion, reducing anxiety and stress.
- 09While our practice centers the healing of Black women and girls—because we believe representation, safety, and cultural attunement matter—our doors are open to anyone seeking trauma-informed, wholistic care. We welcome all individuals who resonate with our approach, values, and offerings. If you're looking for a space rooted in compassion, nervous system care, and mind-body healing, you're in the right place.
- 10During a session, you can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where your healing process is honored—mind, body, and spirit. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all healing. Every session is tailored to you and your goals through open collaboration with your therapist or wellness provider. Depending on your needs and the type of session (therapy or wellness), we may incorporate: Grounding exercises to help you settle into your body Breathwork or mindfulness to calm the nervous system Guided journaling to process emotions and patterns Somatic healing techniques to release stuck energy Gentle yoga or movement to connect with your body Expressive arts, inner child work, or visualization Sound healing or chakra balancing for emotional reset Whether you’re coming to release, reflect, rest, or reconnect—you’ll leave with greater clarity, regulation, and tools to carry forward between sessions.

- 12To prepare for a session, wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement, and create a calm, quiet space where you can participate without distractions. Bring any materials you might need for reflection, such as a journal or any art supplies. Your therapist will let you know what materials are needed ahead of the session.
- 13Most of our services are offered virtually, allowing you to access care from the comfort of your home—whether you're in therapy, wellness, or supervision sessions. All you need is a quiet space and a solid internet connection. We also offer select in-person sessions, pop-up classes, and events in Virginia throughout the year—like our yoga + sound healing sessions, community wellness circles, and special group offerings.
